The Sharon Lavon Bynes- Page Book (SLBP) Award
Established in January 2022 and is named after the founder’s mother, Sharon Lavon Bynes-Page, who while diagnosed with lung cancer, recovering from triple by-pass surgery, and receiving dialysis treatments 3x a week, still pursued higher education and was determined to complete her Bachelor’s degree, all while being a single mother to three. Unfortunately, her health would not allow her to complete her degree.
SLBP Foundation
Is awarding one (1) book award to two (2) students meeting the qualifications within the City of Philadelphia who are enrolled in higher education during the academic year. The student must be enrolled at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Pennsylvania. Preference will be given to students residing in the North Philadelphia section of Philadelphia or a member of the Zeta Amicae Auxiliary.
